Ai fini di valutare l\u2019aderenza alla Dieta Mediterranea dei partecipanti \u00e8 stato somministrato un questionario validato, caratterizzato da un punteggio compreso tra 0 e 9, in cui 9 indicava un\u2019ottima aderenza al regime mediterraneo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Dall\u2019analisi dei dati si \u00e8 osservato un maggior rischio di sviluppare depressione nei soggetti che avevano una bassa aderenza alla <strong>Dieta Mediterranea<\/strong> e che presentavano un indice di massa corporea elevato (&gt;25 kg\/m2). In aggiunta, \u00e8 emerso che anche una bassa qualit\u00e0 del sonno poteva favorire l\u2019insorgenza della depressione. Al contrario, non si \u00e8 osservata alcuna influenza nei confronti della patologia per altri fattori come lo svolgimento di attivit\u00e0 fisica, il fumo e il consumo di alcol.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Nonostante questo studio presenti alcune limitazioni, come la natura trasversale che non permette di determinare relazioni di causa-effetto e l\u2019utilizzo di questionari auto-compilati, dai risultati ottenuti sembra sempre pi\u00f9 chiaro che la dieta giochi un ruolo chiave nei confronti delle patologie mentali. <strong>L\u2019alimentazione, infatti, pu\u00f2 influenzare alcuni processi biologici e neurologici<\/strong>, come favorire l\u2019alterazione delle funzioni dei neurotrasmettitori, processi infiammatori o di danno ossidativo cellulare.
