In particolare, i ricercatori hanno preso in esame 7 studi osservazionali e 6 trial clinici condotti su persone con steatosi epatica non alcolica, rilevando una significativa riduzione dell\u2019<strong>indice di massa corporea <\/strong>(-1,2 kg\/m<sup>2<\/sup>), dei valori di <strong>trigliceridi<\/strong> nel sangue (-33 mg\/dL) e dell\u2019<strong>insulino resistenza <\/strong>nei soggetti che seguivano maggiormente questo modello alimentare. Questa condizione risulta essere strettamente associata a obesit\u00e0 (80%-90%), iperlipidemia (90%), elevati livelli di glucosio e trigliceridi nel sangue ed \u00e8 uno dei maggiori predittori di diabete e malattie cardiovascolari.
